In Fall 2021 I took over the role of Art Director for W27, FIT’s own student-run newspaper. My key deliverables as Art Director was unifying designers on a vision for each issue while still continuing a tradition of allowing each article to have a unique standpoint and design language. Unlike traditional news publications W27 empowers students to push their creativity which is something I fully embraced in my role.
The Spring into Summer Issue
The Spring Into Summer issue was released as the Spring semester was coming to an end. The cover choice captured this moment by featuring the work of a graduating photography major, a picture that embodied a sense of freedom and motion.
The Collage Issue
The Collage issue was inspired by all of the creatives making up the W27 team. The cover and content reflected this by highlighting creatives of all kinds from collages to illustrators to creative writers and small business owners.
